FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Women who are currently incarcerated and looking for transitional housing may apply to Angela House. We can now accept women on probation or parole. Violent offenders will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We cannot accept registered sex offenders.
The application process begins when an incarcerated woman sends a letter containing a brief bio and reasons why she is interested in Angela House to tdoyle@angelahouse.org or to our mailing address. We respond by sending back an application form and more information about Angela House.
Once we receive your completed application, the staff will review it. You may be interviewed in person or on the phone, depending on where you are incarcerated. A decision is sent back to every applicant. This process can take some time, so please do not wait until the last minute to contact us.
Acceptance means that we think you would benefit from our program and we would like to have you as a member of our community. We do our best to accommodate the women we accept, but the timing of your release is a factor. There are times that we do not have any available beds on the day that an accepted woman is released. In that case, we would refer you to alternate transitional housing.
We cannot accept those who have not applied and been accepted into the program.
As stated in our program information, women must come to Angela House directly upon release. Failure to do so will result in your acceptance being terminated.
